The bands last studio album, although not the last to be recorded (which accolade belongs to Abbey Road)...

...Famous for seemingly letting Phil Spector run his grotty little hands all over the production and most of the tension within the band at the time was filmed and put out in the film of the same name.

Nowhere near my favourite Beatles record at all, although it does contain 2 of my favourite tracks...Two of Us and The Long and Winding Road.

Your thoughts??

I'll make this a series, going backwards.

Ooh, great idea for a thread series! That said, It's not a record I play much. I agree with you about The Long and Winding Road and Two of Us, though, even if some of the latter's charm faded many years after I first heard it when I finally realised it was written by Paul about him and Linda, not him and John. Don't Let Me Down is ace too but mostly I get vaguely annoyed that such a mediocre album could be released by the Fabs at all, let alone it be their final record.

I actually didn't know Two of Us was about Paul and Linda...you're right, that definitely takes some of the charm away!

For You Blue, One Afiter 909 and I Me Mine. Musically the best tracks on the album. listen to the guitar on I Me Mine. Brilliant.

Puts me back in high school. This and Abbey Road were the soundtrack of my senior year.

We covered the back half of Abbey Road - it was a hoot. I still can see myself scrawling out horn parts off the album - listen, write it out, play it back, check it again... That was a long, long, time ago.
