I panda to nobody
Started this today, and found it less difficult than I thought to get through the day on 600 calories. Has anyone else tried it, and if so, with what success?

Surely that's not sustainable, Unless you're going for the Christian Bale "machinist" look?

If I may, what's your weight/height now?

Actually, quick google shows its just 2 days a week.

I'm no nutritionist, but it sounds nonsense to me.

Good luck

Yeah me and laughing gas do it, (today being one of the 2 ) we do 500 calories it's worked really well for me not as well for her, she's lost half a stone but some reason she's always found it hard to lose weight. From the end of January I've lost about 22lbs.

From what little I've read it seems that a small weight loss of around 1lb a week is often reported. Two non consecutive days of 600 calories and then eating as normal every other day isn't going to turn someone into The Machinist.

I think Bale was on less than 600 calories for a long period day in, day out when preparing for that. Crazy.

Six foot and nearly 17.5 stone. I need to shift some timber. You only do the 600 calories twice a week, then eat normally the other five. Thought I'd give it a try.

That's steady weight loss. Have you found it easier than dieting constantly?

I could probably manage a fasting type diet if I was inactive. Indeed, when I was on furlough leave with not much to do, there were a fair few occasions when I only had one meal a day. I actually didn't have much of an appetite. And I did lose a bit of weight over the course of the week. But, being inactive causes its own problems.

As long as you create a calorie deficit, it doesn't really matter how you do it. Whatever works for you. Personally, I think if you're a reasonably active male, you can easily burn off 3000 calories a day. Limit your calorie intake to 2500 a day, and you have enough of a calorie deficit to lose a pound a week. Simply, easy and sustainable.

Just watch yourself on the '5' days and ensure that your calorie intake is a decent level. Don't cut carbs out. Otherwise it's peeing in the wind.
