Anyway, it would be in the best interests of the Premier League to come down hard on Ozil, tell him that his intolerance of the Chinese culture is not welcome in the Premier League and just repeat the official Chinese line over these camps - that they are happy camps where people get to learn how to be Chinese to help the nation along the path to a bright new dawn.

Similar thing happened in the NBA only a few months ago. Looked like it could get really bad for both sides but just sort of went away.

Depends on how its handled on both sides from here I guess. Shouldn't cower to Chinese money like. They're doing some awful stuff, shouldn't be wrong to call that out.

The Rockets' GM was 100% right to do what he did. The NBA took a lot of hell for not backing him.

I think it would be great if cash started to dry up for football.

Sure we'd lose a lot of big names clubs who didn't adapt quickly enough and trim their wage structure and spending, but I'd happily see actual sport back centre stage rather than the plastic success, scripting, cheating and branding for tv sales.

Whilst I agree with the message that China's treatment of the Uighur Muslims is greatly concerning* I have to say that it is completely hypocritical of Ozil - He's best buds with a man (Erdogan) that is guilty of mass-slaughter.
