THAT summer with Walsh and Ronko...

In fairness (and believe me I do not like defending Koeman and Walsh) the signings of Lookman, Vlasic and Onyekuru were theoretically more forward thinking than what Brands has done. In the main we've signed players in their mid 20s under Brands, rather than youngsters with massive development potential. We undoubtedly signed some players at the wrong end of their careers at that point, but they did bring in plenty of players who were young and should have had resale potential. Unfortunately they just weren't very good. It still remains to be seen how much resale potential some of the more recent purchases have. The likes of Kean, Mina and - through no fault of his own - Gbamin have likely seen their value take a pretty big dive since they came here.

Agreed to a point, but they were pretty cheap pick ups.

Brands has spent big on players that should be young 1st team players. Kean is still a big draw, got a lot of suitors. Mina still around the same value (he's a solid better than average CB that are in short supply).

Hopefully see how Gbamin gets on.

We definitely need some more recent pics..

Back in the day I would have said Lisa too, but these days I think Faye has aged magnificently so she got my vote.
Wasn't it the following summer that ruined us? The one where people were creaming themselves because we had sold Lukaku and bought Klassen and Pickford?

Its Eveton though. We are cursed.

Klassen was the type of player others (particularly the RS) would sign and he'd turn out to be a world beater.

I worked with someone at the time that had worked in Holland and followed their league more than most. Klassen was a boy wonder. Captain of an Ajak team and ordinarily destined for the likes of Inter or Rea Madrid. He seemed to just ooze class. He had the lot. Build a team around him. Flog Barkley. Obviously don't sign a past-it Rooney and give Klassen the confidence he has the chance to bed in and develop. No. Not at Everton.
