Sorry, I missed a little bit out in my preious post: The dealer will have told them that they would get their tab wiped AND they'd get cash (typically between £5k and £10k) for their trouble. I appreciate your point that most people wouldn't go for that offer, but you're forgetting that most people would never be given that offer, because most people don't go on "working holidays" to one of the drugs capitals of Europe. People who don't go there don't get the offer, and people who go out for a one-week holiday don't get the offer.... people who want the perceived "Ibiza" lifestyle and go out for the season to get off their tits on blow every night for five months - they get the offer.
The dealers specifically target people they profile as being more likely to go for the offer, and a girl who has spent six weeks shagging you and your "business associates" in return for more coke is quite likely to jump at the chance to clear her debt and earn a few grand in the process. "Working holiday" my ass.
This sort of thing is a regular occurence. If you sat in arrivals at Heathrow or Gatwick you'd see several people arrested every week trying to bring drugs through in their luggage and crying that they were forced to do it when they get caught. The dealers sometimes TELL them to say that if they get caught - it's a way of selling the whole venture as low-risk. In reality, it's VERY difficult to prove a duress defence.
I'll be surprised if I'm wrong on this one.
Mate I know plenty of people who just go to Ibiza and work to party. Coke isn't the drug of choice out there and it's unlikely they're just a pair of coke whores happily going along with it all. No doubt they've been very, very stupid in getting mixed up in it but I think there may be a little bit more to it than that. Still not sure what though.
There's plenty of willing drug mules. I can't understand the thought process of whoever set that up TBH. Food bags full of it openly in a suitcase FFS??? it's not the 70's.
