Lescott Completes City Switch – News Archive – News – evertonfc.com – The Official Website of Everton Football Club

Joleon Lescott has completed his move to Manchester City for an undisclosed fee.

The England international passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the Eastlands club after meeting officials on Monday. He has signed a five-year deal for City.

A deal between Everton and City was agreed on Sunday evening.

The Toffees had previously rejected two bids for the England centre-back, with manager David Moyes repeatedly stating his desire to keep his best players at Goodison Park.

But earlier this month Lescott submitted a transfer request, which was subsequently rejected.

In the days following the rejection of that request, Moyes noticed a change in Lescott's attitude - and after a substantially improved deal was agreed with City, the Club allowed the former Wolves player to move to Eastlands.

During his time at Everton Lescott established himself as an England squad regular and won the Player of the Season award in 2007/08.
