i believe it was a flipant remark made in light of the immigrant populous of aus whereby the system tries to recruit talent for the aus national side regardless of country of origin/passport.

the 'rejects' thing was to highlight that some players werent able to cut it at aus top level and so found international experience under another national flag.

this all said, i may be mistaken - please point out if i am.
