Terry Butcher - new Hibernian manager

This is definately a step down for him at the moment I agree

Delighted as a Hibs follower though

It's not a step down though, despite being 2nd in the league they get less than 3000 fans, Hibs have a far bigger wage budget and fanbase. They also have a fantastic youth set up. If Butcher can organize the defence and get Heffernan and Collins to work then they'll easily make the top 6.

Still won't win the Scottish Cup though.

Hibs do marginally better at the gate but in relation of size from Inverness and Edinburgh, I think Inverness get the better draw. Easter Road has had huge gaping holes in the crowds this year, even for games with Celtic and Hearts. It's a club which was only going downward where as Caley had, and still has, a decent upside

Hopefully Butcher can turn things around as you say, but this is still a drop from where he was

Inverness beat Hibs 2-0 at the weekend as well, although I expect their title challenge to fizzle away now

Hibs should at least avoid the drop now and can start re-building

Hopefully Butcher can also start turning things around in regards to Hearts rivalry

Hibs are more than terrible right now and Butcher's style of football is atrocious on the eyes.

Hearts might stay up yet.

First of all I'd like to make it clear that I do not have a second team - it's Everton only for me.

Spent a lot of time up in Inverness in the years when the two clubs up there (Inverness Caledonian and Caledonian Thistle) had to merge. It was merge and get along or die so they did the sensible thing. I saw the old ground flattened and the new one built and have visited it. They actually opened the ground up for me and my dad when they saw us standing outside in EFC shirts. I've always had fond memories of them.

As a result, I'd like to have seen Butcher stay as he's done a cracking job however these things happen in football - can't help but think he's made a mistake though.

Anyway, EVERTON FOREVER.
