-----------Howard-----------

Still first choice keeper as far as I am concerned, consistent, good shot stopper, distribution could improve and decision making is sometimes questionable, but im sure he will thrive with the added competition robles brings. Im sure he will be rested for cup games and robles may feature in a few prem games if Martinez chooses to rotate and give him a chance, but see no reason to drop Howard for no reason yet.

-----------Baines-------------

One of the best left backs in europe and currently the best left back in the prem. A no-brainer for me, starts everytime. Backup we have Oviedo who has shown glimpses of flair and ability.

----------Jagielka-------------

El Capitano, must start. Solid, dependable, mr reliable, he is a rock in our Defence. He needs to improve his passing range and ability but i am sure this will come under the wing of Martinez and co.

----------Alcaraz--------------

One of the best ball playing defenders in the league, there is a reason why Martinez brought him here, he was a solid defender at Wigan and highly rated. Missed most of last season through injury and some say Wigan would have stayed up had Alcaraz been injury free. Played in the Fa Cup final and showed how important he was contibuting to a clean sheet against Man City.

----------Coleman--------------

One of the most improved right backs in the league last year. Has worked on his defensive duties and is a good foil for Baines on the other side of the pitch. Loves to take players on, dribble the ball and set up goals. His is still young but is learning all the time and I can see him becoming a big player in the Martinez era.

----------Fellaini----------------

The monster in the midfield must surely be one of the first names on the sheet if he is still here. Needs to work on his discipline a bit but he still contributes with assists and goals every season. A nightmare to defend against and a key part of our set piece plays, without fellaini we could struggle to create opportunities.

-----------Gibson---------------

Gibbo is a great player with passing ability, someone who fits Martinez key criteria for his pass and move game. He has been trained by the best at Utd and his decision making is top notch most of the time. He is also good at tracking back and making tackles if required allowing Fellaini to push up the pitch more when required.

-----------Mirallas--------------

Showed last season that he is capable of scoring the odd wonder goal every now and then but also provides us with another dimension we have lacked for a while, a player with pace and good dribbling ability, someone who is not afraid to shoot from range and has the confidence to go past 2-3 players and then play the ball. He is a tricky guy and he can sure strike a ball. He is definately becoming a huge fan favourite and hopefully this season he will show his best yet.

------------Pienaar---------------

He can play on either wing, he can play in the middle, the guy is pretty versatile and no matter where he plays he always makes an impact. He is pretty good at drawing fouls due to his height and ability to trick players. He is also very good at laying off passes to baines and the link up is one of most formidable partnerships in the league. He may be getting a bit old but he is still quick and martinez will be a fan of this for his preferred style

------------Deulofeu--------------

The child prodigy. The wonderkid. The guy you sign on Football Manager because you've heard such good things about him. Probably the most exciting loan signing the league has seen since Carlos Tevez. This guy has it all, pace, dribbling ability, flair, composure and skill. Yes we are all wondering how on earth have we managed to get this coup. This player is perfect for martinez style of play, with Mirallas, Pienaar and Kone he has pace and passing ability, with Gibson and Fellaini anchoring the midfield he has a study midfield. Deulofeu may not have played in the Prem and may be young but I do not see that getting in the way of him making his debut away to Norwich

---------------Kone----------------

It was a toss up between him or Jelavic but I can't see Martinez spending 6 mil on him and not using him as a starter, especially as he linked up with him back at Wigan. Kone has pace, strength, skill and knows how to play in a Matinez team. He is strong in the air as well and will be great for set pieces. He is someone who i can genuinely see scoring at least 10 goals this season in the prem alone if not more.

Possibilities:

Osman - a workhorse who was never dropped during the Moyes era, he is experienced, broke through the england setup, is calm under pressure has good feet and can certainly skip past players. Some say he is the english xavi, in which case Martinez may prefer him as a starter. Has already scored in pre-season which can only bode well for him.

Jelavic - if he is still here and not gone to Hamburg he may push kone for a starting spot if performs well in pre-season.

Barkley - One of our very own wonderkids who has shown ability to run at opposition, make good passes and take players on and shoot. He may impress Martinez enough to get a starting spot, but i would see more as someone who will come off the bench initially and eventually this could see him becoming a regular starter.

Robles - He may jump in and put Robles in net due to preference. He has certainly impressed in pre-season.

Distin - pretty much an everpresent in Defence last season for us, strong, quick still agile for his age, can the milkman impress Martinez enough to start ahead of his old pal Alcaraz?

Would love the following:
Howard

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Felliani Gibson

Miralles Honda Moses

Kone

After this lot have put us 3 up after 60 minutes bring on delboy for a half hour run out to create havoc.
Oh well we can always dream!!!!!!

1 - Waffle
2 - Croquettes
3 - Jacket
4 - Chips
5 - Fries
6 - Roasties
7 - New
8 - Maris Piper
9 - King Edward (c)
10 - Sweet
11 - Mashed

Probably in the 4-3-3 with Edward the main striker with Sweet and Mashed as more winger types.

Excited to see Maris Piper after his loan move. Exciting times.

With Saxon and Osprey on the bench?

If not then Martinez is a sh*thouse.

It wouldn't be dropping Howard for no reason, he's been in poor form IMO and the fact we're gonna have a keeper to challenge him is great.

Howard/Robles - Happy with either to start.

Coleman
Jagielka
Distin
Baines

Fellaini
Gibson

Mirallas
Osman
Pienaar

Kone

Nobody has seen Deulofeu so how anyone can say he will start I don't know, he won't be ready fitness wise in comparison with other players. Martinez fancies Kone over ahead of Jelavic based on the situation at the moment and that's the team I think we will start with.

You're acting like its two days from kick off, it's getting my hopes up things like this and there's still 3 weeks to wait!

I can't wait for the season either.

The team picks itself really... Except for this bloke.

A Moyes/GOT favourite, Pienaar's dream run is over. He should have been benched on numerous occasions last year but wasn't. When Baines was playing out of his skin at the start of the year so was Pienaar. The minute Baines had a dip in form guess who disappeared?

"Still quick"... Never. Way too slow to play out wide and Barkley is by far a better option behind the striker.

Poor Ross was given two starts last year... Spurs and Arsenal Away!!! Logical thinking again by Moyes.

Squad player.
