I haven't listened to BBC radio coverage of football for years thanks to Alan Green. I try not to watch MOTD on the telly for reasons underlined by the biased "punditry" on show last night. Maybe the BBC will never care and there is not a great deal that can be done other than to ignore it. Sky, though, would be really concerned if I cancelled my subscription if I was brave enough to try it. What effect would it have if we all phoned up to cancel in the middle of their mouth-foaming end of season build up? Would it make them think twice about their priorities? How many of us really care about their proud boast to be covering "every Liverpool and Man. City game and most of Chelsea's"?

You think a few Everton fans can influence a corporation like Sky

Seriously ?

A lot of crazy stuff being posted on here in the last few days

Why not just focus on all the great work the team is doing instead of focusing on irrelevant stuff like this ?

How many of us are there in the UK? 250,000?

Assuming we all had Sky (which isn't true) and we all cancelled at the same time, they'd brick themselves.

However, as we don't all have Sky and we aren't all going to cancel, this thread is moot.

The millions of Liverpool fans who buy Murdoch's services would trump all that.

*oh the irony ^^^*

That is it in a nutshell. The vast majority of tele clappers sadly like liverpool OR follow the money teams.

The true essence of support for your local side has died off and been replaced by big business, stocks and shares and pleasing of the masses. Real football fans cringe at the media manipulation, and I include intelligent fans of the clubs who get the unfair exposure and favouritism. But nothing will change and our club and others like it can only tow the line due to us being soley dependant on the TV companies revenue streams.

Yep. We're weak because we have no cash and therefore no trophies or potential to win them and therefore wont be mass supported and thereby heard.

It all comes back to the fat headed fraud in the hot seat - the one who provides the cloak to shield Earl and Green.

We'll accomplish nothing of note until he and his fellow gangsters are gone.

Unless Martinez can work a miracle more Impressive than Klopp at Dortmund we will indeed be swimming against the tide sadly.

Three or four miracle seasons where Martinez drags this squad into the CL. That's what would be required to really propel us through the glass ceiling. Like Vilareal had a few years ago.

It's nigh on impossible now, never mind next season when the others (all others) above and around us will have strengthened massively whilst we wonder whether we'll have a measly net spend at last.

What Sky and others fail to realise though is that in the UK the vast majority of fans are not followers of the 'big 4 or 5'. In fact they are not even in the majority amongst PL followers. I'm amazed that Sky doesn't recognise this and, for instance, dedicate one day each on SSN to each of the 92 league clubs, with features every hour say, that give serious coverage on the club, including its past glories and its current issues, proper analysis, not, for example, 30 seconds on a club having the oldest tea lady in the league!

Just out of interest would you prefer it if they didn't show the key games in the title run and instead showed Newcastle vs Swansea?

Personally, no. Newcastle and Swansea fans may think differently. It is the stomach churning trailers that really get me as though the "race" to finish first is the only thing that we really care about. Where is the coverage of the "race" for all the European places? This is surely of far greater interest to a larger number of fans? Relegation issues are affecting many clubs as well, won't the fans of these 6 or 7 clubs be more interested in this? What is happening at, say, Stoke City? They are putting together a tidy end of season run it seems. What do they need to do over the summer to capitalise on this?

I don't know but maybe a high proportion of Sky Sports subscribers are only interested in the story that Sky gives them. I never thought I would think this but Bring Back Jimmy Hill.............

Only freeview on the telly in our house - my little self indulgent protest at the sky coverage of their favoured few clubs. My protest is but one - if many followed like the Rangers supporters did in Scotland, they might change their viewpoint. I doubt it though. Still, sky TV does not feature in our house.

I want to watch the race for the title because they are the most technically able players playing in games where the most is at stake, not because it is the story sky have fed me.
Outside of ourselves and the big teams I would be interested in watching Southampton and maybe Swansea. I had the Newcastle Stoke game on Saturday just gone (dual screening with our game of course) and it was [Poor language removed] terrible. I watched QPR Forrest before it and the standard was honestly better in that game.
