Following a survey conducted by BBC Scotland, two thirds of Scottish clubs said they'd support moving the league to the Summer.

Reasons given include :

Savings on lighting.

Attract supporters .

More TV coverage.

Which would lead to more revenue from sponsors etc.

More exposure of the leagues through TV coverage.

Less games cancelled due to weather.

Wouldn't compete with English Premiership.

The big fly in the ointment is the Scottish involvement in the Champions League, as there's no way it would be altered to accomodate the Scots in the Summer.

Personally I think it'd be great to have footy to watch after our season is over and I'd deffo watch ?.

Good idea for that frigid hell hole. A good few games are played in terrible conditions or cancelled. And it's not like you have to worry about clashing with international tournaments as once every 20 odd years is hardly something that should be too much hassle.

What about if England did it, imagine no Premier League during winter, the months of November, December, January & February, are seriously depressing months as it is !!!!!!

It would surely benefit their CL involvement as it would begin slap bang in the middle of their season, and lets be honest, they rarely get beyond the groups anyway so it isn't going to stretch into their close season.

Brilliant idea I say. The only argument against it has been 'fans might be on holiday'.

It definitely makes sense to me and I'm sure the TV exposure would do wonders for the Scottish game globally.
