In many threads we are all talking about Moyes searching the lower leagues for players to bolster our squad. We can glibly make statements as though such a task is simple so lets try putting it into practice by nominating particular players for discussion between now and the end of this season.

The parameters for selection must be

1 Playing in the English or Scottish leagues

2 A player with youth on his side therefore no older than 24 years

3 If possible one who is likely to appear on the box so any performance can be assessed by all rather than rely on reputation.

4 When making a recommendation assess your prospect by marks out of ten

To start the ball rolling I would nominate a player we will all be happy to sign, David Nugent. I was first told about the talents of this lad by a mate who is a regular at Deepdale, everything I was told has been proven to be right. His perfomance level is consistently high and imo would be the perfect foil for AJ making our attack the quickest in the prem.

Rating 9/10 (ten has to be an almost impossible rating)

Discuss or nominate;)

Two words- Scott Sinclair. This guy is going to be a super star, he grew up in my home town and was snapped up by Bristol Rovers at the age of 7! He played in their first team at 15 and was then snapped up by Chelsea shortly after. He is currently on loan at Plymouth and has scored some crackers already.

I actually played against him when he was playing mens football at the age of of 12! Fast as lightening.

Here is some more info on him:

Good thread Monty!

Good thread Monty!

Give him a rating Mick.

What is the likely hood of him becoming available? I would think that Chelsea could well be guarding him from any possible 'other influences' especially as they stole him themselves.

Nugent is making all the right noises, it was reported in the papers today that Preston's manager is resigned to loosing him if they dont get promotion, but the best thing is, he is a lifelong Evertonian and would give his all for our club, that is the type of player we want.

Obviously Gareth Bale.

Andrew Surman is a decent prospect, Izale Mcleod?

Scott Sinclair is class, he comes from near where i used to live.

Lets have a pen picture of some of these lads, what positions do they play, ages, are others after them?

The young Wolves forward is being linked to us in the press today 'BBC gossip link says 'Everton have joined the list of clubs tracking Wolves hot-shot Michael Kightly. (Daily Star)' I have seen this lad linked with a few premiership clubs, any one know anything about him. Wolves have a couple of profile games on the box shortly, could be one to watch.:)

A couple of players at my local club Lincoln City have been catching the eye. Lee Beevers (defender) and Lee Frecklington (midfielder) are both highly rated youngsters. They're not Premiership class just yet but they could be worth keeping an eye on over the next couple of years

Frecklington - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Frecklington

Beevers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Beevers

We used to have an 'arrangement' with Lincoln, is that still in place?

Yeah I remember that, don't know if it's still the case. But an Everton scout was spotted at a Lincoln game earlier in the season

Billy Sharp is a very good player, Hes young and scores plenty and hes one of the reasons Scunthorpe are doing so well this year.

Giles Barnes

Currently playing in the Championship with Derby County and is an attacking midfielder.

He is 19 years of age and is similar to Aaron Lennon but stronger and more of a physical player.

He has made 25 appearances and bagged 7 goals including an amazing goal against Sunderland with tricks galore in the penalty area and then slotted the ball home.

Tottenham and Arsenal are currently spying on him and i am led to believe Moyes was also sniffing around.

Rating 9/10

Scott Sinclair is class, he comes from near where i used to live, near Bath, like micknick said.

Where abouts did you live Cal?

Sinclair actually has a twin brother and they lived a few doors down from me when I was renting, they used to play footie in the street until about 12am even though it was pitch black with only street lights to aid them!
