"Tagging" Forum Members In Posts

Just wondering if this was possible - sort of like Twitter but less irritating.

Like you'd be able to type @micknick in a post, and when it's posted then that user receives an alert to know that they've been mentioned.

I don't think it's possible

we asked for it before but the mods said it's either "not possible" or it would at the very least be "frowned upon"

nah, i don't like it...it spoils the reading. i like how we make nicknames for each other (tubes, doc, carlito etc)...makes for nicer reading.
