A day or so later it was announced the deal could be off because Liverpool had made a late bid.
I heard two different pundits offer the opinion that the thing that might swing it was the choice of where he would rather live. They were very dismissive of the city of Liverpool and one of them smirked and asked, 'Why would you choose to live in Liverpool?'
Then I read here read here about Denis Straqualursi's glowing endorsement of the place. He said he and his family loved it in Liverpool.
