Alright lads,

Are there any keen swimmers on GOT?

I went to my local pool this morning and found it really difficult to get back into it. I haven't been swimming properly for years so my freestyle technique looked really awkward at times.

Any tips?

Sidestroke. Although that is for distance. If you want fitness, just get yourself knackered.

Jus' dive in lad. or is it the banning order, injunction and damn short memories that folks have.

Basically what I was doing by the end,

I guess it just takes practice.. it felt like learning from scratch all over again

I genuinely go to the pool at least once a week to run for fitness mate. It's really good for a workout after cricket/football on the weekend, helps the joints recover whilst still getting the work in. An hour of it is a pretty hard session.

Felt like a right [Poor language removed] last time i went swimming, i was knackered and could hardly breathe and all the old men where flying past me!

There was an old bloke there this morning who must have been at least 70, I lost count of the amount of lengths he did.

Actually, he might have been in his 20's and it was just the wrinkles from being in the pool too long.

Practise, don't do too much, ease your self back into it with a couple of hard sessions thrown in. Couple of weeks you'll be fine
