Acknowledging that the US is a vast place with many different habits and traditions, I always have an argument with the family here in the UK about wether a tomato or celery taste better with salt.

Weirdly, I find it makes a tomato taste sweeter.

Cannot for the life of me tell you what celery tastes like (sweet, sour, just plain weird!?!?!) , just that it tastes better with salt

Salt goes well with caramel so why not. Then again, reasoning that salty snacks and beer go together i once tried adding salt to my beer.

Long story short - I should've done it at the end of the pint, not when the glass was full. I still mourn.

Nice things that don't go well together in the same gob at the same time:
Coffee and apples or tea
Egg and baked beans
Sweet and sour
Pizza and pineapple

A good cheese and tomato sandwich is made amazing by a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

....putting stuff on stuff spoils the taste of stuff.

Egg (and other stuff) on a fatburger
