Its about context. (I think) I take my wife and three kids and swear, angrily and loudly sometimes.
What I don't like is the constant abuse that and drivel some fans come out with. On Sunday I was sat next to a young woman who was with her grandad. She was delightful, everyone was a effing c work, if a spurs player was injured she wanted the effer to die. She just sounded stupid my teenage daughters were embarrassed for her. We had a similar experience at the Peterborough game, three blokes in their 50's exactly the same, clowns.
Hats off to you mate one of the reasons I go the match is to get away from my bird and kids

My wife is a Yank and it blew her mind that our fans can be so angry and spiteful to our own players. She wont ever go to another game. I live in Canada now, North American sports are all about family values and fun. It’s great but a franchise will never be a real team so the spirit isnt in it. Im torn between the passion of anger and swearing and a great wholesome day out watching sport.
I have been at many a base ball, american football game where fans have kicked off on each other inside the stadium. 5 occasions I can remember beer induced brawls close to me not to mind swear words/abuse.
