Swansea or Cardiff?

hah, we have one of these, swansea and cardiff have been in the league for almost a century. therefore it should have been long enough for people to get over. also, the welsh league is full of part timers and is way below the standard of even scottish football. Rangers and celtic have continuously dominated that league but at least they lose the odd game. swansea and cardiff would only ever lose to eachother and they wouldn't really gain anything out of that, nor would the welsh game. would you complain if we were competing for europe with liverpool going into the last game of last season and swansea beta liverpool?

Not really a good answer to say its history, we should learn from history but not always repeat it.
I wonder how the good people of say Bolton or Birkenhead feel about the situation when they see clubs from Wales ( A seperate country in welsh peoples eyes ) take a place which could be theirs.

I'll respond to your question with another question.

Why does it matter that Welsh clubs are competing in the English premier league, when the same league is:

- Broadcast all over the world
- Teams full of foreigners
- Many of the clubs owned by foreigners

It's the 'English' premier league in name only. Saying that it's not fair because other English teams 'miss out' seems a little redundant as they're clearly not good enough to be competing at that level in the first place.

The other teams who are members of the 'English' premier league are happy to take money from Welsh people, and also more than happy to poach Welsh players and thus drain the Welsh PL of quality footballers. Having a couple of Welsh sides competing really isnt a big deal.

So you could not answer the question then ?
Put I will show you the courtsey of trying to answer yours, I have for a long time thought we should follow the German model ie no foreign owners etc.

If Swansea & Cardiff joined a welsh league with Newport Wrexham etc it would help raise the game in wales, you only have to see how Wales struggle to attract crowds for all their games to see this is a problem for them.

that's because sadly most of the population are glory hunters. when we were top of our group a decade ago and beat italy 2-1, the millenium stadium sold out. there's also the fact that we're more of a rugby nation and that's put 1st sport (hence look at the full stadiums due to us winnings a lot). swansea's capacity is also a great indication. they were getting crowds of 13,000 at the most when in the bottom divison. which was only as high as 16/17,000 when they were doing well in the championship. now all of a sudden, in the prem and they're selling out every week and as rumoured could sell another 10/11 thousand tickets. when i'm in the city everyone is wearing their new kit, this was far from the case just 5 years ago.

As a Welsh boy, I don't think it would benefit Welsh football. Welsh football would dwindle, rugby is far more popular in Wales than Football is. The lure of big name clubs from the Premiership, and even the Championship, help draw bigger crowds for both Cardiff and Swansea.

I'm proud to be part of the UK, hate the National Assembly and separatism with a passion, so for me I'm delighted that we have clubs in the English League. It's not 200 years or more ago, we're not oppressed, and I quite like our English neighbours, despite being a Welsh speaking Welsh man

I should vote Cardiff seeing as it's all blue football wise where I live in the Valleys, but I honestly would like to see both clubs in the Premiership.
