Surprisingly born or lived in Liverpool

I was born in Liverpool and lived there for the first 15 years of my life. I keep my real name confidential as I hate having to give autographs. lol

....I remember posting a picture of Lime Street from the year you were born, amazing to see. I dare say St Matthews was on the edge of countryside then.

I’m 64, but I look back at pictures of the street in Everton where I grew up (no longer there) and you realise how times have changed. It looks dire but we were so content, we grew with values we knew right from wrong. I dare say many in this thread have similar backgrounds.

I was born in Gautby road near the 'Bloodtub' and often use the line that my elder sister slept with Elvis Costello. Of course they were only four and his name was Declan then.
He worked for a while at Midland bank in the old Bootle Giro building,a friend of mine who sat near him said he always looked like he wanted to be somewhere else,or he was making up tunes in his head. lol

I think the house we lived in on Walton Hall Avenue was built in early 1930's, so St Matthews would have been built about the same time. It was all fields before then. The fields started at Gilmoss when I was a kid. The trams terminated at Gilmoss too, before they extended the line to Kirby. I still remember our Dad taking me and my brother on the tram to Gilmoss. It was the end of the line and we were out in the country.
