in nieghboring Paraguay, the Superclasico is Olimpia & Cerro, was a couple weeks back. same effect here. unless you are a Guarani fan, like me.

funny you mention the Libertadores elimination. my first visit to BA i loved the La Boca neighborhood and might be rooting for them. until the second leg match against River Plate. between the fans and even the team's action (failing to form a protective barrier around RP players to discourage fans from throwing things), i simply cannot root for them and cannot believe they got off so lightly from CONMEBOL.

should i ever be in BA for a RP hosted Superclasico i'll see about going.

Guarani,Nacional,Libertad as well as the big two have done Paraguayan club football proud recently
I am biased but River fans always look down on Bocas fans for their bad behaviour but to be fair after that disgrace many Boca fans apologised for it.This was unheard of before
If you are I'm BA make sure you go the River museum is a must see its a great way to learn the history of the club especially about La Maquina

Di Stefano was in La Maquinita, wan't he?

All four as AFA in their infinite wisdom has designated this weekend as the weekend of the clasicos.
Have a look at those apps they are excellent to get an idea of atmosphere and football
It will be a little distorting as with all clasicos the play will be frantic at least early on
Note that here the referee will allow more hard play than in Europe perhaps one of the reasons Messi does better for club rather than country
Just need Estudiantes v Gimnasia. Are Union and Colon still in primera?

With 3 big high risk games in the greater Buenos Aires area that will mean a huge police presence at the matches this weekend.

Is Kranevitter an Atletico Madrid player on loan to you till the end of the season?

Estudiantes will play Gimnasia and Union will face Colon in the week of the clasicos.
There are still no away fans so the possibilities of disturbances are reduced.
Kranevitter is a River player of 22 years who will be transferred to Atletico after the World club Cup.River have only sold 60% of the player to the Colchoneros retaining 40% which will be a tenplate for future sales to Italy and Spain.
Di Stefano made his debut in 1945 one game I think and was then loaned to Huracan for a season as he could not get a game with La Maquina. He was as you can imagine a huge success at Huracan and returned to River in 1947 to replace Adolfo Pedernera a legend of La Maquina and playmaker of same.Pedernera had fallen out with the directors. In his first season Di Stefano linked marvellously with the remaining forwards of La Maquina and River were champions. However to the purests he speeded up the play too much and Pederneras magisterial passes were absent which the fans loved so much so now the team was no longer La Maquina.
Di Stefano always claimed that this was the best team he ever played in.Not bad if you consider Madrids five European cups, the ballet azul of Millionarioa and Argentinas fantastic Copa America team the same year.
