Super Mario or Sonic The Hedgehog

Played a bit of Sonic today. Old 1st one on the Mega Drive. Hard as!

But in all honesty I was always more of a Mario man.

How about you?

Mario?

Or Sonic?

I still play both of these from time to time on my Xbox and on an old snes. Had a game of Mario kart the other day too. I'd go for Sonic. because you can clock mario in about 20 mins if you go through the portals.

Fat Italians do have a certain charm though.

Only thought on the other day Mario's mum must have been a right goer, look at Luigi.

How is Sonic winning?

It's like comparing Nottingham Forest to Manchester United. Yeah Sonic had a brief spell where he was ace, but he's gash now and has been for near enough 20 years.

But Mario still dominates. He survived the leap to 3D (the premier league, to continue the metaphor) and excelled in it, whereas Sonic bombed and, despite brief flashes that suggested he might claw his way back into the big leagues, he never does.

I've voted sonic cause I've never had a Nintendo. Always thought Nintendo was for lads who prefer cats to dogs if you know what I mean!

Most people on here will only compare the originals though.

And the original Sonic (and Sonic 2, arguably 3 as well) was more of a complete gaming experience than the original few Marios in retrospect.

I'm not gonna compare Super Mario 64 to Sonic 2 ^^

Super Mario Bros 3 had far more depth than any Sonic game, ever, and SMB3 is 24 years old.
