Sunderland Season Tickets Suspended

the club actively advertised a 'Singing Section' over the summer where the away supporters used to sit. Most fans who wanted to experience a bit more of an atmosphere at the ground moved there under the impression they would most likely be standing and singing for the full match.

The majority of this section do stand and all the club seem have done is tried their best to ruin the atmosphere by making an example of certain standers (mostly teenagers and those who are unlikely to put up much of a fight i might add) by sending up jobsworth, bullied-at-school stewards to remove harmless kids who want to go to the match and have a bit of a sing song. The atmosphere in the last few games has suffered as pro-standing and anti-steward songs have came to the fore, sadly.

I know for one if I personally am ever made an example of and banned for trying to create an atmosphere, I won't be going back

Fair enough mate. There was a five live phone in the other day where some of your fans said the club were being tits. One caller got his season ticket moved out of the "standing" area and was happy with that. I think there was also some talk about Sland thinking about having a proper standing area and the police were supportive. Hope it gets sorted out.

O'Neills still a huge tit btw. Not really relevant that, just thought I'd mention it.

Have this issue alot on some away games, Leeds thsi year was an issue. My dad can barely walk without crutches, never mind stand for 90mins. Barely saw any of the 1st half, 2nd half the steward allowed him to sit on the front row that were empty.

Could you talk to the club and ask them to help you out ? They might be given some away seating for limited mobility supporters.

Well we try to get upper tier seats when possible. Granted it's more effort for him, but you don't see standing upper tier most of the time. It's not asif we go every away game anyway.

i remember the Champions league game, (my dad missed the previous 3 seasons due to the cause of his situation)... his first game back, he refused to go in teh wheelchair section (it was sold out) due to pride. We only went becuase of teh extra tickets becoming availible. Don't think he'd ever go now if it meant sitting in a selected area.
