According to the OS we're playing Norwich on the Saturday at 3pm and then Sunderland on Monday at 3pm. Is that the confirmed date ? Madness if so.
What?
Everyone plays 2 games on easter weekend. The ****e have blackburn away on the tuesday night.
They'll move Sland to the Wednesday so we have less time to prepare for the semi that the RS then?
7th April 3pm
9th April 3pm
7th April 3pm
10th April 8pm
Not quite the same thing. We're either going to have to massively rest players, probably dropping 3 points in the process, or risk injuring our players 5 days before the Semi Final.
The Easter weekend fixtures have and always will be stupid, and that's if you don't have any other games that week.
So they play 29 hours after us?
Whats the problem here, field the under 18s, we cant win the League, who even cares about crappy league games.
If anything we get more of a rest for the derby, there complaining of fixture congestion and tiredness so if anything they might do the same. Hopefully the pressure from their clueless fans for them to get 4th means they dont though and we go into the semi the fresher of the two sides.
There's not alot to play for in the league, i'd split the squad between the two games & give some fringe players like gueye, coleman (if fit), rodwell (if fit), Jags, Anichebe, Barkley etc. a chance to earn a place in the team for the semi's.
I wouldnt play Fellaini in any of these games incase he gets a booking - he's on 9 now i think so after west brom i'd rest him - we cant risk him getting a booking and missing the semi, hes far too important to us. Might be worth giving that Fransico Junior kid a go in his place to see what he brings to the team.
Its about 800k per place & i'd rather get to an FA cup final than potentially get an extra 800k+ - finishing 7th/8th rather than 9th/10th isn't exactly an achievement .. a place in the cup final would guarantee europe for next season & offer a chance of silverwear.
Is Fellaini only on 8? Moyes was asked about him being close to suspension in his press conference today so i assumed it was 9. I'd still rest him against Sunderland at least, a fresh Fellaini would run the show at Wembely!
At the end of the day the league is very close this season, 4 points can be the difference between finishing 8th and finishing 14th, at least £5m down the drain if you're not careful. For a club like ours £5m is massive.
