Sickens me, the average Everton fans logic concerning Rodwell is a complete joke.
He didnt really have the best of Seasons last year, but same could be said for a LOT of our players, that doesnt mean hes not the same player.
The fact that EVERY top Club in the country is linked to him every week is a sign of how highly rated he is, but I suspect most of you would be glad to see him leave for around £10m as long as we got some utter crap in like Charles NgCrapzia.
Kenwrongs puppets the lot of ya.

Yeah and i suppose to you Rodwell's the best thing since sliced bread, he's the next Beckenbauer, and yet my logic is flawed. Whoopididoo every top club in the country is linked to him, every top club in the country was once linked to Jeffers and Pennant, what have they done since ?. Your forgetting that papers need to be filled every single day, its easy to write "Chelsea eye Rodwell move". It frustrates me that this 'wonderkid' tag is bandied around so easily. Vaughan became the youngest scorer in the Premier League and he was a wonderkid being eyed by all and sundry.
I'm not saying Rodwell is a bad player, i'm not even saying he's average. I'm saying he's got a lot of potential, but he's been surpassed in development by similar players his age, and indeed quite a few players younger than him. He's never established himself as a starter here, and until he does he'll never command the same sort of fee's that Jones and Henderson did. We can demand whatever we like for him, but no club will be interested in paying £15-20m+ for someone who can't get into our midfield. I'm fairly certain he'll be here at least another year because there was no significant interest at the fee we'd demand.
Wickham is first name on the team sheet at Ipswich, and at 18 (only just turning 18 too) and with roughly a 1 in 4 record for a team like Ipswich that are third rate in the Championship, that is impressive. He's very much an old school centre half. He's big and strong, but with a burst of speed and he's a devastating finisher. I've heard the comparison of 'a young Shearer' and its certainly an interesting one. His potential is still pretty raw at the moment so he'll need guidance and games to realise that potential, i think he'd do very well at Sunderland. He's really impressed me every time he's played. Ipswich have accepted the offer by the way.
Without turning this into yet another Rodwell thread though, at 20 he hasn't made the same sort of impact that Jones, Henderson, Sturridge and Welbeck have. Even the likes of Cleverley and Albrighton made more appearances last season. Its not clear what his best position is, he's had trouble with injuries and other than a 5 minute cameo against United when he scored, 12 months ago, there's not really been many other performances of note. He's got the build of a good player, and he's got the right attributes but his talent is nowhere near as refined as others his age. Perhaps he's a late bloomer, who knows but i don't think there will be significant interest in Rodwell till he first establishes himself in our team.
No, i'm saying a 17 year old that is first name on the team sheet and scoring fairly regularly in a mediocre side is worth £9m rising to £13m, he's just turned 18 and he's got lots of potential, if he were doing it for a lower league Premier League side, he'd be worth close to double that. I'm saying Rodwell is a bench player currently, at this level at 20 years old there are more advanced players around his age, so its not like he's the stand out talent in the country. Until he cements his first team place he'll never be worth as much as Jones and Henderson.
£15m is the price we'd probably demand now, but i don't think buying teams would be interested at that price, because he's not shown enough.
Aren't Sunderland one of the club's deemed by the Neiler/Damon Finance Review team as 'on their knees'?
