Suggestions for City Break

Cheers for all these suggestions lads - ideally looking for something quite chilled - we love a drink and good food but not bothered about nightlife. Like somewhere with plenty of history and culture

Stockholm is brilliant and although it's very cold at times the snow just adds to the scenery. Museums everywhere and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Vilnius is another lovely city and another where the winter scenery suits it. Architecture, history, shopping and perhaps the best beer I've ever drank....cheap as well in the right places. Bernardine Park is beautiful in the snow and very quiet through the week - take a stroll through and then go eat and drink in Užupis - the little hipster enclave nearby. Small enough to walk pretty much everywhere as well.

We did both in one week as it's only 1h30 or so on the plane from Vilnius to Stockholm and the fare was about £17 each. Stockholm can be expensive but it was offset by Vilnius being fairly cheap for accommodation and food/drinks.

Thanks for all your help lids - We've gone for Budapest in the end - Was tempted by Vienna but very pricey foodwise. Budapest looks ace, stunning public baths, good food, very affordable (non Euro of course)
