Player Valuation: £35m
Just seen on Sky Sports that Daniel Sturridge still hasn't signed a contract and he is out of contract in the summer....could be an excellent buy for us??

And what about Barry Ferguson. he is no spring chicken but is a leader when not flicking the V's and has quality and loads of European experience. Could probably pick him up for a song

Both aren't Moyes type players really...

..Thats not saying i wouldn't like them in the team though.

Daniel Strurridge wants something stupid like 65k a week, City are rightly not offering him the contract. I can’t see us paying him anything close to that.

As for Barry Ferguson, I can’t see what he’s offer us. He’s no improvement on Arteta, Cahill, Neville or Rodwell. He’s the king of the sideways pass, it’d be like signing John Collins all over again.

Agree 100%. He's sloth-like in Premier league terms and doesn't think quick enough. Totally found out at Blackburn even before his injury. I think Moyes knows he dodged a bullet there when Souness paid £9m for the dud to beat him to the signature. Hopefully that's the case, anyway. If he was looking for an ageing out of contract midfield player amongst the Old Firm he'd be better looking at Paul Hartley...and he's not up to the mark either.

I'm sure I read Sturridge was asking for 75 k. If City call his bluff he'll only get about half that at another club.

Sturridge for me would be a quality signing especially on a free. He reminds me of Andy Cole for some reason. Barry Ferguson on the other hand, no thank you. Like someone mentioned, he gets the ball and plays it backwards or side ways, and didn't do it when he was at Blackburn. Darron Gibson at United is also on a free in the summer, who would be a much better signing. Looks a decent box to box midfielder and chips in with a goal or two. Maybe the lure of a better chance of first team football may persuade him to sign for us.

No to Sturridge at £70k a week. Yes to Sturridge at £20k a week.

No to Ferguson, Tox Blue is spot on in his analysis of him (y)

Even Citeh isn't stupid enough to pay Sturridge 75K/week....I think. That's more than any one on our club makes.
