Stupid but reasonable questions

It always perplexes me why people often include the prefix 'pro' in front of active, to make pro-active?

Active is a verb which automatically suggests an action or result. It's unnecessary. Why not say, "I'm going to take an active approach?"

How can you been active-active? Are you more active than your usual active? Also, we don't use anti-active which is the common opposite to pro.

I also asked in school: if people are sick why don't we give them bleach as that kills 99.99% of bacteria? I got a few of the cane for that.

Another one I remember hearing someone say to a teacher....

"Miss if you had no feet would you wear shoes?" The reply being no. "Miss if you had no hands would you wear gloves? The reply being no.

"So Miss, why do you wear a bra?" ....Very reasonable, rational thought I think.
