Ask her for an e-mail outlining the reasons she thinks it's beneficial to move you. Then reply, with a blind CC, to either her boss or HR and see what happens.

If that doesn't work just quit.

Unless you have been given reasons then it sounds like she is setting you up for a disciplinary procedure. Even if you have had reasons, as long as she can justify them as a benefit to the company/workforce then she can move into disciplinary procedures and will probably have another thing lined up.

Comes across as a trap to get shut. These things are usually a precursor to redundancy situations where they can get rid of staff without a payoff.

Sound out some more co workers and start dropping hints etc

It's a perfectly reasonable request and your refusal and 'logic' behind it, doesn't sound reasonable to me.

The fact that you're kicking up a fuss about a minor issue of this nature might hint at the real root cause of her intervention

What a fascinating glimpse into office life this thread has been. It sounds like school but infinitely worse, as you know you're going to get out of school one day.

My advice? Resign and buy a mr whippy van

It's obvious his current desk is near some uber fit german bird he fancies, he'll have to man up and go and sit back with mingers on the english desk.
