Toilets.

If it's not the flush valve it's the fill valve, if it's not that it's the seat that's either skew-wiff or a broken hinge. Sick to death of fixing them, in fact the flush valve on the other lav needs sorting as well but no way I was buying 2 of the things in 1 hit, plus the fact that it's gonna be a cistern off job with the downstairs one meant I cba doing both of them.

Talk to me about this. My toilet is on/off broken currently. If i flush it, it will keep flowing water into the bowl for ages. Flush valve or fill valve?

The hoover, if I have to take it apart to remove stuff that my mrs has clogged it up with again I'm gonna go mental.

The same applies to pouring fatty stuff down the sink and having to take all the pipes off under there to clear it out.

Flush valve.

The 1 that is still broken has a chain that lifts a flap & the flip keeps lifting off it's 'pivot/hinge' tried altering the chain length by both shortening & lengthening but neither seems to make a difference.

The type I've just repaired has a clip on fitting which makes replacing easier if you get the same 1 to replace it with.

If it was the fill valve then it would keep filling to the overflow (same as ballcock sticking). You need to take the lid off and determine which as if it's overflowing then the water will run into the lav.

I always put the grinds from my percolator down as I read that their abrasiveness keeps the pipes clean, possibly best to clean it first if it's gunked up though or the coffee could stick to it.
