To whom it may concern,
My name is Tait and I am a 20 year old college student from the suburbs of Chicago. I started supporting Everton in 2005 when they came to play the Chicago Fire and I instantly attached myself to likes of Yakubu, Yobo, Arteta, Lescott, and Cahill. Also, it didn't hurt that they had Timmy in goal, whose autograph I got in 2002 when he was still in MLS with the Metrostars.
As the premier league and European soccer get more and more popular in the US, I still get weird looks when I tell people I am an Everton fan because they do business and play the game right. Everyone here seems to love Arsenal or Man U, and my brother and dad are Tottenham fans, so I tend to root against them. I also have a weird affinity for Leicester City, as I had a FIFA 12 manager mode in which I brought them to the premier league from League 1, so I will be following and supporting them now as well.
I'm actually going to be studying abroad at Queen Mary in London this fall so I hope to get to as many games as possible. West Ham will be the closest to me, I guess, but hoping to take a train out to Goodison at least once, so I could use advice on transportation, how to get tickets, where to eat, pubs, fan groups, and any other tips anyone has for an Everton fan studying in London.
Overall, very excited for the future of Everton under Roberto Martinez.
