stuck at work

Dutch Toffee

Not worth a penny
As one of the lucky few, chosen to work today, I left home this morning, in heavy snowfall. Made it to work, without too much bother, but as soon as I drove into the parking at the office, I became stuck. Keeps on snowing, in fact, the heaviest snowfall, I can remember during my time on this earth goblet.

Now turns out the lorry drivers, have got a drivng ban, because of the severe weather conditions. So, now I'm stuck at work, with nothing to do, except browsing this masterpiece, waiting for the shovels and gritters to arrive.

Is there really a worse place to become stuck, hours before Christmas eve?

Please lads, cheer me up.

LD loves us and an elf is magically going to give Moyes 12 mill to buy him. Arteta found his old great form. Peanuts signed his contract. Wait supposed to cheer you up...

I am going to have my wife's parents and my parents , and my brothers, sisters in law, at my house for christmas eve brunch... there is going to be some major fun going on.... Like rather be stuck at work with you.....

Hi there all, still stuck here. Keeps on snowing, with no shovels or grittrs to be seen amywhere, as they're to busy to keep the motorways free. Luckily a few more colleagues have arrrived now, so we'll try to dig our way out.

Never seen so much snow in my life. I'll mever be dreaming of a white Christmas ever again.

That's real unlucky DT mate. I'm thinking of you, if that helps.

Hope you get home safely.

I'm currently in the middle of the ocean, minimum 1 and a half hour helicopter ride to land, working nightshift (6pm to 6am, yep, shifts are 12 hours). My crew change date is the 12th of Jan, which means at midnight on Christmas eve I still have 6 hours to work for the day, New years eve, of course same thing.

You gotta do what you gotta do and all that, but this is the 3rd year in a row i've missed the both of them.

Oil rig??

That's also really unlucky mate. I'm feeling for you a lot. It must be so hard not being at home for Christmas.

Yeah, we've got an electrician out here that hasn't been home for Christmas in 6 years, and I thought I was getting a [Poor language removed] deal.

I'm free!!! Just got home, Literally had to dig ourselves to freedom. What a day at work, got there at 7am and all we had to do was finding a way to get back home again. Ah well, it's all in a days pay, I guess. I'm just happy to get home unscatched.

Sorry to hear about that Avaseer. Don't care about Christmas at all, but even then, work has to be the last place on earth, where I want to spend it.

How's the weather in England btw? Gonna leave for London, at 1am on Tuesday. Any updates on road conditions in England?

I cant speak for the rest of the country, but around here the roads are ok.

I'd imagine that as long as you stick to the main roads, you'll be fine :D
