A chance in a million today

I was taking the wife to,work this morning and the road we head up is always busy with cars turning left, so most cars turning right go up the outside so they can get into the right filter. Today I done this and a car was coming towards me, this is normal and there is enough space...but yes against the law. Next thing I see is the blue lights of an unmarked police car. As we pull alongside each other I apologised as I was in the wrong, but he was very blunt and was not accepting it. He then told me to pull into somewhere safe, I said I would turn right and pull in there. I did this and waited for him, as he would have to have done a U turn. I sat there for 25mins and nothing, the wife walked up to the junction to see if he was there. We waited another 5 mins and the decided to just go.

Not sure I could of done anymore

I guess now I just wait for my points in the post
 


What an ass. It's happening all over with police. They get their jollies from power trips over people trying to go about their daily business. I borrow my mom's car one weekend and had the top down on the Pennsylvania turnpike. I made eye contact with a cop parked in the breakdown lane and next thing I know he pulled me over and had a serious attitude problem. He cited me for speeding and on the ticket made up a speed and wrote down a mile marker. I had the ticket I got at the toll gate and it had a timestamp. It was physically impossible for me to travel at the speed he claimed in the timespan from the ticket to when he wrote the time on the ticket.

Needless to say I went all the way back to court to fight it but lost because it was some redneck town. It was over as soon as the cop entered and judge greeted the cop by name and asked him how his kids were.
 
Mate of mine decided to drive home after 3 pints one night and got pulled over by the police. He refused the breathalyser so they arrested him and took him to the station where he again refused the test. With time running out they persuaded him it was better to comply for his own good saying if it was positive it would look better in court. Anyway by now it was about 5 hours since his last beer and he thought he be okay but it was now past the point of breathalyser so he had to provided a urine sample.

The police left him in a room alone with the container and told him to fill it so he did and sat waiting, he was there for at least another 2-3 hours on his own and eventually went to see if he could find them. He couldn't find them anywhere so he asked someone and he was told their shift had ended and they'd gone home. So he went back to the room and grabbed the sample and did a runner himself before someone else cottoned on.

Two days later there was a knock on his front door and there stood the two coppers who'd come to arrest him for taking the piss..
 

Mate of mine got stopped high as a kite with an illegal substance in the car he had just bought a few ounces of one night.

His arse went, only the fact him and his mates stuck to the story amazingly that they didnt check the car properly. Wasn't a drug deal type amount but enough to pull him in.

Are you in the UK mate ?

If so you chances are that you aren't getting done. They need to give you what is called a " Notice of Intended Prosecution"
This applies to various motoring offences that carry points, what you have described sounds like it fits the bill.
This can either be given verbally or comes in the post ( speeding usually ). The Police have obviously got called away to something else, hence not speaking to you. Unless something comes in the post in the next 30 days I think the chances are that you are ok.
 
Another instance of corruption but I completely deserved the ticket for being an ass. I was cocky and speeding through Georgia to get to a training base and I got pulled over. I told the cop I am in the military and just trying to get where I am going. He gave me a lecture out speed limits and then ended with "no one speeds through this state." To which I responded, "what? Sherman did." Didn't end well for me. He cited me for the construction zone for the project that had been over with but the sign was still up.

I was a little too snarky, but what's worse is I had to physically show up and pay the fine. I did. When I get reinvestigated for my background check, the agent tells me I have a warrant out for my arrest in Georgia for an unpaid speeding ticket. I had to pay those bastards twice.

Is that against the law? Surely we all find ourselves crossing into the other carriageway in order to continue our journey at some point?
