Estimating likely ticket allocation for the Stevenage game

The capacity for Stevenage's Lamex Stadium ground is 6,546 (Seating 3,412).

In detailing the ground here: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/stevenage/ , it states the away end (South Stand) holds 1400 fans.

Stevenage's average attendance this season has been 2,988, so basically half full. Their highest attendance has been 3,325.

Based on previous games we've played at lower league clubs with similar sized grounds - Macclesfield away in FA Cup 3rd Round January 2009, they had a capacity of 6,335, and we received 2,400 tickets: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/cup-clash-sold-out.html

Last season we played Cheltenham in the FA Cup 3rd Round. They had a capacity of 7066. They gave us an allocation of 1103: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2012/12/19/cheltenham-sold-out

The threshold for getting a Cheltenham ticket was 7+ aways.

Based on all of this, I'd suggest we'll get around 1400 tickets, although by FA Rules, Stevenage can get away with only giving us 981 tickets, which would be 15% of their capacity. However, given they average a half full ground, they will almost certainly give us more than that.

Havent got room for a temp stand in any case, its pretty tight there as it is.

Yeah, things like that are for ramshackle non-league clubs. Stevenage have hosted numerous top flight teams in recent years without a problem.

Stevenage have a pretty modern looking ground if people check it out on Google map. You go to some lower league grounds and they're falling apart, but this appears to be well kept, if unspectacular.

The funny thing is, I remember us getting significantly below what the away stand held at Oldham last season, because of issues with the Kopites misbehaving in the previous round at Oldham, so it's not always as cut and dried as how much the away stand holds.

Away fans are located at one end of the ground in the South Stand, where up to 1,400 supporters can be housed.

How To Get There And Where To Park

Leave the A1 (M) at Junction 7 and take the A602 towards Stevenage. Go straight across the first roundabout and as you approach the next roundabout you can see the floodlights of the ground over on the right. However, if you go straight across the roundabout then you will see the entrance on the left to the large official car park which is free. The car park though has only one entrance/exit, so this can lead to bit of a bottleneck after the game has finished.

By Train
Stevenage Railway Station is about one mile away from the ground. Leave the station booking hall and turn left towards the town. Take the stairs on the right before the bridge over the dual carriage way and head along the A602, Lytton Way. At the roundabout which has the police station on the right, take the second exit into Six Hills Way. At the next roundabout take the third exit (South) continuing along the A602, Monkswood Way, passing a large Asda store on your right. After about 3/4 mile (McDonalds/Burger King etc will be on your right) you will arrive at a roundabout and the ground will be opposite you on the other side of the A602.

You can also get the Arriva No.5 Bus to the ground, from Stop E at the nearby bus station. The ten minute journey costs £1.50 single, or £2.30 return. As the ground is not easily spotted in the distance, ask the driver to drop you off on Monkswood Way, opposite the entrance to the retail park.
