Hm.... Not many Everton Players. Then again he's probably not had an opportunity to play with them much.

Pienaar Reveals His Dream Team

Former Bafana Bafana captain, Steven Pienaar has revealed his Dream Team, including the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wesley Sneijder.

Soccer Laduma exclusively asked the Everton star to put together his greatest XI filled with former teammates from his stints at Ajax Amsterdam, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

Strangely, he omitted Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, who have both moved on to Real Madrid and won the Champions League two seasons ago with Los Blancos.

“Gareth Bale isn’t in there and neither is Luka Modric, but this is the list of players I enjoyed playing with the most,” Pienaar explained.

Pienaar Names Four Players He Hates Facing

Former Bafana Bafana captain, Steven Pienaar has revealed four players that he hates to go up against, one of them being Cristiano Ronaldo. The Mzansi star, who is currently in pre-season with Everton, was asked about the players he is fearing the most to come up against. Two of Schillo’s answers are more attacking-minded players, while the two defensive players might surprise some but are making sense given his role on the wing.

“Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson,” he told Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview.

The 33-year-old also gave his opinion on the long-standing Messi vs Ronaldo debate and opted for the Argentine.
“You can’t compare the two of them. They’re on a different level of their own,” he added. “They are pushing each other year in and year out. My personal opinion is that I’d choose Messi. “I’m just going on his technique and the way he plays. He’s a complete player from playmaking to scoring goals. He makes the team better. “I actually played against this guy (Ronaldo), so I think I know what I’m talking about. You have to look from the point of view of the performances of the two. “They both score lot of goals and Messi assists a lot. So based on this season, I’d say Messi because Barcelona won everything.”

Hm.... No Everton Players. Then again he's probably not had an opportunity to play which them much.

We'll be playing 5 a side at this rate next season..

SL - I'm sure that Baines , Arteta and VDM played for Everton when Pienaar was there - I might be wrong though

Interesting he mentions VDM in the team.

I always felt he could have been great for us but for one reason or another we never got anything like the best out of him.

I recall one day against West Ham he was absolutely brilliant and destroyed them.

Baines and Arteta are probably the two best players who played for us at their peak, while pienaar was there, could maybe make a case for Felli over Galasek, but it's a good team, and pienaar clearly likes proper footballers, which fits in with how he plays the game
