Neither naismith or kone are good enough. The reason why kone is still here and naismith isn't, is not that martinez thinks kone is the better player but that we were offerd 8.5 million for naismith and we weren't for kone. If norwich offered 8.5 million for kone, we'd have sold him and kept casper.
And where have I said otherwise?

18 goal in 103 appearances, How will we ever replace such a prolific goal scorer

Who's honestly arsed if he's well liked within the club, does that gain us more points in the league

We received 8.5m for a 29 year old bang average footballer

Yeah and about half of those were sub appearances, and god knows how many times he played out of position.

When played in the correct position he made a difference for us. Like he did for Norwich on Saturday. It's all very well saying 'oh but we got a good price'. I'm a football fan, not an accountant. I don't give a crap about the balance sheet, or 're-sale value' or all the other bollocks that modern day football fans obsess over!

I like Naismith, sometimes you need a work horse that does the unappreciated side of things. Closing down the defenders, keeper and midfielders, helping to turn their attacks into defence, sadly he used to turn our attacks into defence a lot as well, but was definitely a useful player to have.

Turned plenty of games in our favour through sheer determination and often caused players around to raise their game through his commitment. We need to pair that with increased skill levels for his replacement and we will have a great player.

Knew there'd be people saying we could have used him on Sunday.

He might well have come on a nicked a goal.

Or he might well have come on and been what we all saw more often than not.

He's that good he went to Norwich

Just goes to show how crap Osman is. Even Naismith's been valued at 8.5m yet the papers haven't bothered to even link Osman away from us. All you need to do is play 3 good games for us and the Mail and Express are trying to sell them.

Yeah - to improve them.

Personally, I think it's just about the right money we got for him. Given that there's some real cack going for 1.5 times as much, Norwich have themselves a proven goalscorer for the money. Whether or not he can/can't make a pass isn't the issue. He can score goals. That's what he's been bought for.

Good luck to the lad.

Ah this is a good thread to come back to for some good old fashioned pants-pissing. How is the albino Pele getting on at Norwich by the way?
