Not a name that most of us have ever heard I would guess, I first heard of I when Andrew Lloyd Webber was talking about his new musical about the man on radio 2 about two months ago ..... Anyways, just watched the programme on ITV about him.... For those who don't know he was basically stitched up by the Establishment and became the scapegoat in the famous Profumo , Keeler , scandal of the 60's..... Interesting programme and I look forward to the musical too.

There's a film called "Scandal" starring John Hurt as Stephen Ward about the Profumo affair. That's how I first learnt of it. I recommend you get that on DVD. Very good film.

Thanks for the tip.... So called 'high society' at the time was a very murky world...... Ronnie Kray, Leslie Payne and Lord Boothby was another cover up from which Boothby profited.

Not a musical, but we went to see a play called Chimerica over the autumn. Was about the Tianaman Square protest. Very good.
