Both Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are tremendous examples of British entertainment talent. Although I must admit Hugh Lauries successful attempt at breaking America surprised me immensely.

Well when he auditioned for House he pretended he was American, using the accent to introduce himself and everything.

I thought that was ace.

I agree but, to me, 'national treasure' would be something born on the back of a body of work...and quite a bit of his portfolio is iconic.
