I can understand that. But Steely Dan have managed to be largely forgotten, even by modern audiophiles.

In many ways it is similar to Dire Straits, who I notice get a decent amount of appreciation from GOT.

What are their most main stream songs to give me a start?
 
A lot of their hits are played daily on US Classic Rock stations. They're one of those bands that you know some of their songs when you hear them, you just don't know who sings it.

Oh dear. Sorry mate, I have never ever understood how their Best Of album was one of the biggest sellers ever.

Never done it for me them. That being said, I quite like the songs and that, but they just seemed so dull!
