Start of Saha's season?

Saha on his day is brilliant - its just that we dont see the brilliance enough. What about playing Velios up front and Saha in the hole .
Saha likes to roam and think this could work with Velios holding the ball up.

Hmm, and how much has Saha done in the past 12 months?

Yeah that's fair lad, let's look at a year when he was out for most of it. Totally logical. In the 2009-2010 season he got 10 goals in 26 games.

Saha is not one of the best strikers in the league and has not been for quite some time, Christ on a bike - you said my comment was a ridiculous comment.

Learn to read ? I said 'on his day'. He's proven with his performances over the past few years and his very good scoring record (1 in 3) for a 33 year old plagued with injury problems. On the other hand you're basing your opinion of Vellios on less than three full games worth of playing time.

So yes, you are being ridiculous. My opinion on Saha is shared by most people in general, not just Everton fans.

His contract is over at the end of the season.....I think !?

What happened last time -- he scored a load of goals + got his contract and guess what....?

The goals dried up, coincidence I don't know.....

It will make my blood boil if he gets an extension though.....

He's the best striker in the squad, just injured too much and takes his time to play himself into form. When he starts on a run tho, hes usually pretty devastating, so id say hes odds on to start against United.

I like the idea of him in behind Vellios tho, could work well that, Saha drops too deep sometimes when hes supposed to be leading the line so behind another striker would be ideal

I hope to see Saha as much as we can this season, he waas sharp at the weekend i was there and he changed things up top. He was helped even more when moyes put Cahill and coleman on to go 4-4-2. As for vellios being as good as Saha, not even close! He may turn out to be as good none of us know. But in my opinion, when Saha is fit and on form he is as good a front man as there is in the prem. Fast, sharpe adn a brilliant finisher! Vellios will be a good sub this season, lets let him learn from Saha.

Saha is the daddy when he's on form and fit. Tbh I dont see any reason why Saha shouldn't be offered a new deal for next year if he's still showing good performances this year.

I fully expect moyes to splash some cash on a striker in Jan or at worst summer who should then be our No.1 choice but Saha would still be a excellent squad player to have.
