Wouldnt disagree with a word of that. Didnt realise the Jake Holmes, (Dazed & Confused) one had been settled though. In my view, that was by the worst example if I am honest. Insofar that most were ripped off blues standards, and the whole blues thing was all about borrowing bits and pieces of songs. You could probably trace every blues riff back to like 2 guitarists about 100 years ago!

But Dazed was a blatant steal, from a pretty unknown artist.

On Stairway, the thing no one has ever picked up on, is the solo was nicked from Hendrix, Crosstown Traffic I think.

Zeppelin nicked all sorts - a track from Muddy Waters almost wholesale, for example.

Yep, but the resulting production of the rip offs were sensational, bearing in mind the technology available then. But it is a stain on their reputation for sure. Not the rip offs, (everyone did that), but the refusal to acknowledge them until court action.
