They're cheering Che Guevera everywhere they go (banners, flags, etc). And oh, by the way, he is a murderer.

Antifa it's the same **** as neo-nazis, don't get fooled.

As a Pole I can't stand people cheering communism (and that's what this club is about in terms of ideology). Red is bad :)

Is right.

is wrong.

Antifa doesn't hate any group of people. It does hate capitalism, and some of the more stupid members might make senseless trouble at the Maifestspiele (Mayday marches). But as an ideology, Antifa is nowhere near as hateful or dangerous as neo-nazism.

Why do you call him a murderer? Is it because you believe the anti-communist propaganda which attempts to tarnish his name?

"I have yet to find a single credible source pointing to a case where Che executed 'an innocent'. Those persons executed by Guevara or on his orders were condemned for the usual crimes punishable by death at times of war or in its aftermath: desertion, treason or crimes such as rape, torture or murder. I should add that my research spanned five years, and included anti-Castro Cubans among the Cuban-American exile community in Miami and elsewhere."

Because my family suffered from communism in Poland. I know how this things works and what these people and their ideology did to my country. Cubans are so poor people.

Guevara killed many people by his own hands - there are plenty of witnesses of his crimes.

and by the way - believe in want you want, but face some facts: communists in USSR killed people, Khmer Rouge in Cambodia killed people, communists in Poland killed people (many innocents and war heroes died in this period of our history) and you're thinking that Castro and his company were a bunch of peaceful guys?

There is only one propaganda about CHe - it's red and ugly.

I've linked you accounts that say otherwise. You haven't linked anything, so it just comes across as meaningless internet spouting.

Regarding Poland and the communist-era, your angle was that those supporting St Pauli are cheering communism and thus cheering the bad it brought to the old Soviet Bloc.

You're wrong.

People cheering St Pauli are doing so for other reasons:

- alternative approach to a football club
- anti-capitalist sentiments
- pro-socialist sentiments

You ask any St Pauli fan what he thinks about the negative aspects of old Soviet rule and he will no doubt agree with whatever your criticisms are.

You're putting words in my mouth that were never there. And what has old Russian crimes in the old Soviet Bloc got to do with St Pauli?

By the way, if you want to reply, it's best to do it via a new post rather than editing your old post.

I have some books about Guevara but they're all in polish so it wouldn't make sense to put a scans in here unless you know polish ;)

I know what you mean, but for me Che = communism. ANd if you don't know what's behind the symbols or ideology you're cheering it's even worse scenario.

It's really difficult to debate (due to my language difficulties mainly) and I don't think we can change each other point of view :)

MAybe i'm too one-sided in my opinion, because in Poland our whole political left-wing is a band of postcommunists pricks. I know there is a big difference between our left-wing and left-wing in WEstern Europe, so I'm propably too emotional on this :)

but still can't stand cheering Guevara anywhere.

fair enough, polish lad.

But believe me (I live in Germany) fans of St Pauli aren't cheering communist atrocities, nor are they advocating violent revolution.

Guevara is a very complex subject. Like Mandela, Adenauer, Malcolm X and other great men of history there will be many nuances in the debate, and much passion in both camps. We could always try a Guevara thread in the Ale House, tho' the mods might close it if people get too passionate.

But in this thread, it's probably best to just stick to the St Pauli phenomenon.

Agreed. Antifa is fantastic, especially compared to neo-nazi pricks.

Also, nothing wrong with hating capitalism. Though obviously this attitude goes against popular propaganda which teaches morons to think greed is good.
