St Andrews golf club forced to accept women

Men are not allowed to join the WI but mens clubs have to accept women.

Scouts is overrun with girls but boys cannot join Brownies/guides

Really narks me off

I don't see why a Golf club should have any reason for a single sex membership personally.

Some Golf clubs are the last bastion of English class twaddle with all of the senseless 'decorum' that comes with it.

The point is why should they not be allowed to have their club as men only club?

It does no harm. They set it up for men and wanted to keep it that way.

Women are welcome to their own clubs/institutes but men aren't it seems.

It feels like PC do-gooders are just protesting against these men only societies for the sake of it.

Yeah I don't know to be honest. It's not like they just promote it as 'womens hour' or something, they actually kick out any men that happen to be in the gym at the time. No idea what the reasoning for it is. Religious or something maybe.

Ok that seems a bit much. I'd imagine it is on religious grounds like but shouldn't you accommodate for everyone rather than those with specific requirements?
