Germany go in to this summer's tournament as many people's favourites to lift the trophy and boast a youthful squad built on a strong defensive ethos and quick counter attacking. German supporters. Joachim Low will be looking to build on an impressive third place finish in the World Cup in 2010, narrowly losing out to eventual winners Spain 1-0 in the semi finals.

Supporters of Die Mannschaft(The Team) will go into the tournament in confident mood after a qualifying campaign that saw their side win 10 out of 10, scoring 34 times and conceding a miserly 7 in return. Veteran striker Miroslav Klose rattled in an impressive 9 goals in the process with Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez chipping in with 6 of his own.

The German side boasts quality throughout with Munich's Manuel Neuer between the sticks, and Gomez and Klose offering a constant goal threat but it is in midfield where they are at their strongest with Gotze, Kroos, Khedira, Reus and Schweinsteiger all vying for starting places. However, Jock's player to watch is Real Madrid's pufferfish looking Mesut Ozil.

Prediction

Not only will they win the race to the sun loungers in the morning, I can't see past them for winning the whole tournament.

Awesome Jock mate. Bloody awesome.

(don't use all the good pics!)

Germany will win this I reckon.

Ta mate, I started off trying to be serious but couldn't miss a dig out Ozil's eyes.

The next one will be better, this was a biffed together trial run.

Thank Christ. I was gonna do this, you've probably kept me in a job and done a much better job

Lovely stuff BJ
