Squad mentality and personality

One thing I remember about Moyes and Martinez was that they not only bought players based on their ability, but also they had to have the right mentality. Moyes infamously refused to sign Bellamy after meeting him even though we were crying out for a player like him.

So many players have completely the wrong mentality. Think Joe Parkinson, the dogs of war, think Tim Cahill, think Lee Carsley, think Duncan Ferguson....

What we have now is overpaid, spinless rats. Chatting to a blue this morning, he said imagine our team when they were at school:

Michael Keane - that lad from school who cried when the teacher shouted at him!

DCL - the Vice-President of the school Litter Patrol voluntary group

Tom Davies - smoked weed on his skateboard behind the bike shed

Schneiderlin - the school grass

Bernard - pick-pocket

Name a player in our squad you could back to win a 50-50????
Richarlison, Pickford, Digne, Coleman, Kean, Mina

Of course, the problem with that is one is in goal, and none are in the middle of the park where you really need the guys you can back to win that 50-50. Wingers dont need to win them, thats not the type of player you need there. Maybe when Gbammin comes back he proves to be that player, but when it comes to tougher players with the mentality to fight and challenge everything, no matter the game and situation, we do have 4 or 5. Its just we need 9 or 10, and we need at least 2 in the middle of the field.
