Incredible scenes from the talented Brownlee brothers. There's no doubt in my mind that Alistair would've beaten the South African had he continued on past his brother, but that thought clearly never entered his mind.

Reminds me of one of the first ever footy games I attended as young lad when Di Canio caught the ball rather than knocking it into an empty net with Gerrard injured on the floor.

What are some of the best moments of sportsmanship you've ever witnessed (be it professional or amateur)?

Don't want to be "that guy", but that isn't what happened. The ball was floated across, behind Di Canio on the edge of the box, with two men marking him. He was never in a position to "knock it into an empty net".

It was good sportsmanship but for some reason it really does my head in when people over egg what he did!

Re: The Brownlees - tremendous stuff, and I honestly think he'd have done that for anyone else too, brother or not.

That's just my young memory of it to be fair, writing it down made me question whether I've actually seen a clip of it since, so you could well be right. Either way, I can't see many players doing that today.

Just watched an interview with the lad and when he's asked about front pages and back pages and staying in the news, he says "I wished the flipping idiot would have paced himself, he had it...!"

Superb. He was NEA.!

Don't wanna be that guy either but its easy to show sportsmanship when he has no chance of winning, had he gone head to head with his brother for the championship he would have probably given him a final kick as he went past to make sure he didn't finish! :p
