Quick look on the BBC website and many saying Seb Coe should get it. The Idea makes me want to vomit. My own personal pick would be Sir Henry Cecil. What the man has achieved over the last 40 years is remarkable. The last 5 in particular have been made all the more impressive as he's had to recover from a spell in the doldrums, fight depression, Alcoholism and his (now ex) Wife having an affair. Not to mention his battle with Stomach Cancer. He's fought through it all and still produced champions. Not least his most recent, and probably final one. Frankel. The story behind the man is special and as it turns out last Saturday will probably be his fairytale ending. For those reasons. He gets my nod. Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Educate me mate, I know hes something to do with horse racing but what has he atchieved?

I think Seb Coe is a good shout to be honest. A fantastic career as an athlete and now he has given a sense of overwhelming pride in the nation. Not just for the Olympics but the way he headed an organisation that highlighted the Paralympics and put it on the same stage as the Olympics which has not really been done before to that level.

Don't really class horse racing as a sport.

I dont like Seb Coe at all but fair play I enjoyed the olympics.

Horse racing is only there to facilitate betting, load of ****e

Strongly disagree. Racing isn't there just for betting. Racing is there just like any other sport to a follower. For Aesthetic appreciation. The racing economy is worth nearly £5bn in the UK alone and houses the most valuable sporting Franchise in the world. Coolmore/Ballydoyle is worth more than every Premier league club combined. Owners, breeders, Trainers and jockeys don’t do what they do to facilitate betting, they do it for the love of the sport and obviously to earn money. Just like in football. On Saturday I was part of a sell out crowd at Ascot who weren’t there to make money. They were there to watch the embodiment of perfection, after 300 years of selective breeding, finish off a perfect career of 14 races and 14 wins and to give one of the greatest sporting minds in any field, Sir Henry Cecil, the fairytale ending to a wonderful 40+ years in the sport, he deserved.
