Id much prefer it, can do certain things under the radar thenI'm still trying to understand why married couples have his and hers bank accounts
We both have our current accounts that wages (pension now for me) go in to , then we put a set amount in to another account that pays all the bills/food shopping. That's worked for 30 years , I don't know why anybody does it differently.I'm still trying to understand why married couples have his and hers bank accounts

If its me and family then I pay. Or we sort it between us..
However if there's a large group of us friends/family mix type thing, my technique is to jump up and pay the whole bill.. The last time I did this is was around £350. But then, you say 'I've paid but if you want to contribute hand me some cash'. Most people over pay by atleast £5-10. Last time there was 14 of us, mine, the missus and kids meal only cost me about £30 as everyone gave me more than enough to cover theirs!
I'm trying to figure out if this is genius or not.

It is a risk I'll admit. But the 3 times I've done it so far its paid off..a brave genius!
Mine already does.......We have a " bills " account and our own accounts.
If my missus had access to my money as well as hers, she`d have more shoes than Imelda Marcos.

It does work!!Did this for my sisters birthday years ago when there were about 20 of us, I even gave the fella serving us a big tip as well, I looked like a hero and thoroughly good guy when in reality I had enough left over from everyone's contributions to treat myself.
