he wasnt even in the squad for the recent warrington game - thankfully the youth/ressies evaluate and move players on quickly, allowing room for others. i suspect he'll move on for little if any fee.

im not sure on krenn either, but thats for another thread.

Yes.

He was bought with the academys money, the club had nothing to do with buying him for intention of the future.

It certainly seems that way, but the fact remains that we've blown £250,000 on the kid. Sure in football terms that isn't a lot but to anyone here that would be a tremendous amount. To waste it due to poor scouting is terrible.

We scout on potential though. Obviously he came with bags of it, we just haven't been able to get it out of him. So it is probably wise we cut our losses and let him move while he still has a career to salvage (Looking at you Shandy)

Got to speculate to accumulate - on balance our youth setup seems stronger and stronger, so i dont mind seeing a couple that dont work out.

Interested in the comment that he was bought with academy money - is there a different funding stream for the academy that isnt from the club?

Sure, I appreciate that, but listening to people who have seen him play, this kid was a no hoper. It seems strange to spend that much money on a player that so many seem to have given zero chance of succeeding. Some people are even suggesting that he wouldn't make the grade at Yeovil should he end up there.

He was banging them in for the Oldham reserve/youth team though. Didn't he average somthing like 1.1 games per goal over at Boundary Park? It seems he was obviously at his level there and now he is over his head.

could be homesickness affected him, could be the pressure of moving to a prem side and the nerves that come with that ie. this is my chance, i have to take it.

if he couldnt settle then he was never going to play his best football.
