What makes people take time out to comment on things they know nothing about? And people they don't know.

A mate of mine was found dead this week and some of the stuff I'm reading is beyond belief. Irrespective of the life he's led it's someone's son. Someone's partner. And someone's friend.

How can people be so heartless?

What did he do to make people dislike him so much?

Sorry to hear pal. Its modern society and scandal/blame is prevalent. The media want to character assassinate celebrities and anyone who is anyone is put on a reality show so everyone can gawp at them on 50 inch screens and work out how they are a bell just so they can pat themselves on the back and say they knew it all along.

Truth is were all a bit weird and a bit of a bell in our own right.

Condolences for your mate. It must not be pleasant to hear these things. You know him and he really was but these people gossiping probably don't warrant any more of your worry when you're grieving. Fk them.

I'll make a SPECIAL example for her every single day of the week.

get ready to pop cork again*
I don't really get the celebrations. Probably because I'm from the wrong generation and living in the wrong place (wool). I'm not saying I liked or supported what she did, because I don't; but I just don't really get why people are that arsed that she's dead.

I didn't celebrate mate as she was someone's mother, grandmother at the end of the day. But I could see and understand why lots of people did. She was a blight on my family and the whole city. We struggled when I was growing up because of her and her policies. She hated both the working class and scousers in equal measure.

So sack her.

I expect the dead really don't care an iota when they have gone. People speaking ill of them thing is aimed squarely at getting laughs from their cohorts or to provoke a reaction from family and friends of the deceased.
So from not very clever to being pretty low. Not a great gambit to run.

My policy is to not be a hypocrite and lay on the platitudes if I didn't respect them. Lost an uncle to cancer on Friday and didn't even bat an eyelid; the guy was a total prick. He sucker punched my dad, his older brother, a few years back when my dad was around 65 over some minor issue and there were very strong allegations he molested my cousin many years ago when she was around 12 or 13.
As for people I don't know, well, it's not my place to say anything except offer condolences, isn't it?
