Spanish System Please!

Will be the death of English football. I love how a team can come from nowhere and there's no limit to what they can achieve. Sadly that's been changed to some degree with this Billionaire Boys Club crap that the PL have allowed but it's still a lot better than most places, Spain being one of them.

In the Spanish model,an Everton B plays in the Championship with all the meaningful game time young emerging players get......a bad thing??

It is a terrible idea, and the presence of B teams in the lower leagues has very little to do with why Spanish football is great at present. What has considerably more impact is players leaving big clubs, learning their trade at the lesser teams and then getting bought back - which is of course something that we do in this country (and which we as a club have benefitted from).

That said, the FA are bound to go for it - just look at the horrific mess they are making of the women's game.

Why not just run an under 21 league ................ oh. Doh.

Actually, I see nothing wrong with having a linked or feeder club playing in the lower divisions. The rub might come if they get promoted to PL (as in if we had Burnley as our feeder)

I do not want to see Everton B, Liverpool B, Arsenal B, Manchester United B, Manchester City B, Chelsea B etc etc anywhere in the football league structure.

Don't like the idea of B teams myself.

The idea that anyone can start up a club and work their way up the league system is really neat. B teams also allow the rich clubs to horde more and more talent. I'd rather keep the loan system and add squad limits rather than just give another place for the massive squads to store players. Seems like this is the way to the death of all the small local community clubs and the lucky ones become all consuming monoliths.

A better idea would be to set up B teams where there's not a strong league structure. Somewhere like the MLS. Could very well help grow the game.
